I have 5 adult pekin ducks and I was wondering what is the best thing to feed them.
If you can buy waterfowl feed, that is the best thing.
I mix all purpose poultry (protein too low) and game bird starter (protein too high) and add a couple of pinches of brewers yeast for niacin.
Then they get all the bugs they can catch and they do a little grazing.
I give them a bit of cheap dry cat food. It's not much good for cats, but it contains grain and fish, so it is nice for ducks as a treat.
If you feed a feed made for chickens, you will have to add niacin.
I feed my corn, but they have access to 2 acres of grass and about a 1/2 acre pond. I was wondering if I needed to give them laying pellets.. they are grown by the way. I hope to have some babies later on and I would love to know what to feed them though...
