What to feed my Cornish Cross

My cornish cross just get daylight, no added light. So they eat and play during the day and sleep at night. I have a 3" high roost for them to jump up on and play about.

Feed is regular meat bird feed (24% I think) and they get veggie scraps.

I use a Momma Heating Pad for heat, so no need to worry about heat lamp dangers. They usually start sleeping on top of it at 2-3 weeks old. Fully feathered out by 5 weeks.

I do let them grow to about 12 weeks to get really big and tasty before they go to freezer camp.

This will give you a idea how I feed my Broilers and Cornish Crosses.

The feeds I use Prestarter 30% protein, Starter, 26% protein, Grow-Fin 22% protein

Week One - Prestarter (30% Protein)
Week Two - 10 lbs Prestarter 10 lbs Starter (28% Protein)
Week Three - 3 lbs Prestarter 17 lbs Starter (26.50% Protein)
Week Four - 15 Lbs Starter 5 lbs Grow-Fin (25% Protein)
Week Five - 8 Lbs Starter 12 Lbs Grow-Fin (23.50% Protein)
Week Six to processing - 20 Lbs Grow-Fin (22% Protein)

How many are you feeding with 20 lbs food/week?

How many are you feeding with 20 lbs food/week?
I thought the 20 pounds was just showing proportions, and that the chicks might eat more or less than that in a given week. There's no way they eat the same amount of food in week 6 as they did in week 2.

Thank you for posting this! I have my first batch of 15 Cornish Cross arriving in April.
If I may ask, why do you stagger the light schedule as you do? Just curious!!
Thank you! :)
