What to look for when candling brown eggs at 3 days

I started my 45 brown eggs on 2/12/08 at noon. I just went to check them and I could not see much. The room was too light for one thing. All I really noticed was that some (most) of the yolks seemed darker than others. Is that any indication of growth? I could not see any veins.

3 days is a little early.

Unless your an expert candler Day 7 is the ideal day to start seeing veins and the eye or embryo.........

Many people will tell you that you shouldn't even be handling them at 3 days. Better to wait until day 7 or even day 10.

i have brown eggs and day 10 works great for me

Day 3 is too soon, as the others have pointed out.
