I live in the Pacific Northwest so constant rain and moisture. My run is 4x8 and we have 4 hens. I use pine shavings in the raised coop.

We have had a big problem with rodents so I've built this structure with hardware cloth top, bottom and sides.

Now I don't know what to fill the run with. Help!

Sand would probably be a good choice, especially since it drains well. Or maybe pea gravel. I pull the bedding from my coop and just spread it into the run (deep liter method, so it just turns to dirt eventually). But, since you get so much rain, I'd think it would just be a soggy, stinky mess most of the time.
