What treat did your chickies get today?

Well, not the whole tub, of course! But they got a few mealies from one of the 5 tubs I have like this. Of course, with about 500 chickens, ducks and Guineas they don't get many.

Mostly they all get apples every other day since those are in season and I can buy a huge bag, like 50# for $5 so I get a bag every week. But the mealies are a big hit!

We worked on the coop today, so spent a lot of time out there. Let's see.....they got leftover corn, leftover salad, a whole watermelon, some apples. The kids LOVE to give them treats. They are some spoiled chickens!

Heels of bread, celery tops, carrot tops and peelings, tomato tops, strawberry tops, and a few small cubes of leftover cheese. There was a lot of squabbling over the cheese!

My girls had a lovely salad of chopped cabbage and apples with a side of tortillas.

Mine had their all time favorites...leftover broccoli & a scrambled egg. My gosh they go crazy over that.

Leftover romaine lettuce, some grape tomatoes, leftover baked potato, a caterpillar, and two very large and hairy spiders.

Mine go nuts over plain yogurt. I tried to give them some organic flax seed yesterday, but they didn't get as excited about it as they do the yogurt! I have fresh Kale for them too.
