What treat did your chickies get today?

Mine got yogurt, mixed with oats, some white bread and leftover mashed potatoes from last night.

black oil sunflower seeds they sure do love there black oil sunflower seeds

First treat of the day was a bag os mixed steamed veggies. The grocery store had them on sale for 89cents so I bought a few for the chickies.

Then this afternoon I saw that the grapes were getting squishy, so they got yogurt and grapes this afternoon.

after watching the hens have such good luck finding worms in the leaves, I got the rake out and found a few worms for my chicks. I broke them into pieces, dropped them in on the floor and watched the fun begin! at first, the just over 4 week old chicks weren't sure what it was, or what to do with it. and then...and then it wiggled!!!! then it was 'it's mine, no it's MINE, no it's MINEEEEE" lol i had to get the rake busy and find some more! this was their first 'treat' per say.
after supper DW and i took some left overs out, the chicks had mixed reactions. they weren't excited at all by the green beans, the mac and cheese wasn't all that appealing to most, of course once ONE got some, all else had to have some. they were so busy chasing the one around with the mac and cheese, (even tho there was more there) they didn't pay any attention to the other beans we put in.
so much fun watching them chase each other around! there will be 'treat time' every day from now on. if it ever warms up, i'll let them out. they're feathers are filling in nicely!

Shells plus a little egg white from someboiled eggs. Tried sweet potatoes, but were not interested in them. Got some chicken and dumpling left overs (went crazy for this) Then my son went looking for bugs and gave them some crickets and other various bugs! Oh and strawberry greens (with a little fruit still on it)

Leftover steak nachos and part of a chicken taco. One of the girls held down a tortilla chip with her foot so she could tear it in pieces with her beak (the chips were soft and rubbery at this point).

Mine have started the day with diced grapes, strawberries and spinach. Later they might get something else.

Today mine got fresh kale and dandelion greens (fresh from the produce dept at the market) I am on a quest for orange yolks!
