What tree do these come from?

We call them horse apples... considering what ELSE is referred to as horse apples I've never understood it, but evidently horses (or at least the one IL's had) do love them so *shrug*

How long do they take to grow? DH says "I" have some fencing to fix before spring if I want a couple of dairy goats... Do you think they'll be grown by spring if I plant them now?

The ones I know about, like the link above, are trees so I donno how long they take but I'd figure on a while.

Actually, so I'm told, they will grow very well from cuttings much like a willow. The farmers used to plant the branches, string barb wire from them and, eventually, have a row of trees.

In fact, horses LOVE them. One of them can fall out of a tree and hit the ground and the horses will RUN over there and FIGHT over it .. it's really funny to watch!
