what type oatmeal?

Is there a specific type of oatmeal for my chickens to eat....ie "steelcut oatmeal or just plain Quaker oats?

Also can 5 month old pullets have cabbage?

Oatmeal is a good idea. We've just introduced ours to yogurt and they love it. I'm sure they'll be enthusiastic about the oatmeal too but I won't be cooking any up until it cools down around here!!!

I always cook a little more than I need when I have oatmeal and refrigerate the rest. I then give them the cold oatmeal in the afternoon when it is hot. They really like it.

What about raw oats?
My chickens loved the cold cereal I wanted to get rid of. Wouldn't raw oats be like scratch?

I give mine raw oatmeal and they love it, including week old chicks. Their momma scratches it all over, but the taste obviously improves with a good sprinkling of dirt,
