What type of chicken eating critter climbs??

We have a window unit on our second floor. The house is built about 3 ft off the ground. There is a snake skin hanging from the unit. Trust me, they can climb, although our suspicion for that guy was that he flew.

It is amazing how critters can smell "chickens" miles away.I would not take any chances.I already had a encounter with a oppossum in the coop. I was able to shooe him out with a board,thank goodness.As far as snakes go,they can slither anywhere.If it is not a poisionous one and your chicks are good size they should be ok.Id catch the snake if you can to be safe.We had 2 garden snakes by the coop last year,caught the big one and the baby got away,havent seen it since.

raccoons are the worse for climbing, pulling chickens through the wire, i lost about 30 chicks once from a stupid raccoon pulling their heads off through the wire, my dad made short work of him!
