What type of cochin is this? :)

Wildwestchick...what does BF at the bottom of your post stand for? I also have a white crested black polish, 4 of the buff laced polish ones as seen above, my cochins of course lol and a naked neck chicken :)

400
here is another pic of the black and white one.

@Kimscrazychick.... Yeah no feathery feet on the white one with the black on its neck does mean Delaware lol, I just figured you had mostly feathered footed so I gave my best guess. ;) the other you gave pics of (black&white) I would still probably guess silver laced on them...they just look like they have too much white to be dark brahmas to me. But I dunno :confused:

As far as the bf Lf...
BF= Bantam fowl
LF= Large Fowl
:)

I also wish I was able to find more polish around here..and naked necks. But these 2 chicks were all I could get around here! That just means I'll have to get some more and breed them myself! Lol!!

And some bad news... Last night I could smell a skunk around my house, well this morning I went out to check on my birds. And my light brahma has a large ( 1" wide by about 3" long) section of skin and feathers missing from around its neck! So I guess it's skunk hunting season around my house now! Friggin skunks! Argh!!!! The bird still looks a little dazed, but I cleaned it up and it's kind of eating and drinking so I hope it makes it...it's my only brahma too. :hit

OH i see! lol very new to these forums so just wanting to figure it all out. i went down and took some more pics of my chickens today. I only have one bantam not sure what kind she has feathery legs but way different from the rest. could be because she is a bantam i guess? i'm uploading them to my computer now.
That darn skunk! I've been kinda worried about ours since we moved them out to the barn because I have already killed 2 Opossums since we moved her last July, but my biggest worrie is when we finally let them free range. Our neighbors dog killed our last 4 chickens that we moved here with us. So hopefully when we do let them out during the day he stays in his own yard. since our chickens have been gone (from last year) he has not come into our yard.
Hope you get the Skunk before he hurts anyone else!

I got all my chickens in a suprise pack from purelypoultry.com they were all healthy and we only lost one to the other chicks when the first came in, it was on the bottom of the sleep pile and it was the smallest one.

I'm so sorry about your brahma. I'm really no expert when it comes to brahmas. I'd certainly get rid of that skunk it'll just keep coming back. Fortunately chickens are pretty tough just keep the area clean so you don't get maggots! I work at a local animal hospital and I absolutely hate it when wounds have them. Yuck.

Kimscrazychick that sounds like fun, I was going to order a surprise assortment from cackle hatchery...but my landlord didn't want me to have that many birds. :/
So I just got a smaller assortment from what ever the feed stores around here got in. I did travel 2 1/2-3 hours round trip to get my muscovies though, they are hard to find in southern utah. And I'm getting a couple toulouse goslings in about 2 weeks whoo hoo! Lol

Cochinfan05 I'm going to fix up our chicken coop later today when my hubby gets home to keep the skunk out! And we are out of city limits out by some fields so we are gonna wait for that dirty skunk to come back and shoot him! I'll have to tell my neighbor about it so her son can keep his shotgun ready too lol!

Wildwestchick, yes i was a little hesitant on ordering it as we already had 55 meat birds we ordered but my hubby wanted to get some different kinds I love

the Polish chickens they are pretty flighty though, and my cochins are so great too! I'm not a huge fan of the Naked Neck but we named it Earl after my uncle who was joking with my girls about naming one of the chickens after him. since we only got one naked neck it was dubed Earl. I've a sneaking suspicion that Earl is actually Earleene....

Also pretty sure that Queenie (white crested black polish) is actually King?.... its got red waddles, and my other buff laced polish do not have waddles yet all are the same age.
