What type of cockerel is Prince

Prince was supposed to be a princess... but I am very happy to have a roo now.

When we got him as chick he was all fuzzy yellow.

Here he is a couple of weeks ago 6 weeks old:

And here he is yesterday 8 weeks:

Any guesses on what type of rooster I will have? So far he is really great, super attentive to me and nice to what will be his ladies.

Looks like a New Hampshire Red or a Production Red.

I have read a few posts that NHR or Production Red roosters are mean... does anyone have experience with this?

Yes they are a bit evil from my own exposure to them.

Just pick him up and spend time with him everyday and that will help. My big red-bro rooster named Bam Bam is pretty aggressive but hes never been aggressive towards me.....and I think thats cause I held him, pet him, and hand-fed him all the time when he was younger. Now that hes matured he really doesn't like to cuddle so much

but he still comes running when I call.

I have had NR RIR and production reds and I have really never had a problem with agression, chickens are alot like dogs it is all in how you raise them, I beleive that the more that you are handeling them and are more personable with them the better behaved they are. Every chicken is different tho. this is just my opinion
