what type of meds

i was wanting to know what type of medications we should have on hand for our flock and were i can obtain them. I already lost 1 chicken to a unknown illness and would like to prevent more losses due to my ignorance of animal medicine and what books can be also purchases or any other websites. more importantly is the list of meds to have on hand
