what type of owl

Beautiful young owl in my area, but I can't find the name of it. Its not a horned owl, it has the head, face and body type like a snow owl, barn owl, but the coloring is light underneath and dark on top, and the circle feathers around it's eyes are dark. Very stunning bird Ive not seen before. Even if they are predators I love seeing them. just wondering if anyone knows a name for them?

Maybe it is a barred owl.

Did you see it during the day? Maybe a short-eared owl (Asio flammeus). They are known to be seen hunting during the daytime.

am southern colorado east side of the mountains, was both times between 10am and noon. 2nd time it actually flew lower towards me curiosity for both of us...
