We had a visitor? Does anyone know what could bite a chicken on the back and kill it and pluck the chest and breast completely clean. I will try to attach pictures in the comments because it will not let me attach them to the post . The bite marks were approximately 3 inches apart. Within the last 2 weeks we have taken care of 7 raccoons. We have only seen neighbors dogs chasing our chickens. This had to have happened during the day.

I watched the video and it doesn't say anything about this situation. Although it will be helpful in the future I'm sure. Thank you!

I wonder if the "bite marks" could be claw marks. I've had owls and hawks that would take down a bird and strip the breast clean.

Very well could be. We are going to leave it to see if it comes back for it. I'm thinking whatever it was got scared off. If not we will examine it more closely

Killer and first eater may not be who comes back to finish it off.

Where and when did it happen?

Even if it was during the day it could’ve still been a raccoon. But I think it would’ve eaten more than the chest but that’s just my experience with them. Do you have some kind of game or trail camera you can set out?
