What type of roosts do turkeys prefer?

We use 2x4's skinny side up, 12 foot long attached to 4x4 post 14 foot tall, even at 12 foot, the weight of 15 turkeys doesnt warp them, standing up right.
Some say they will get frost bite on their toes that way, and flat keeps their toes under them and covered, but if you look at them on the roost, they are covered either way with a 20 lb turkey sitting on top of them! I'm in south GA too, so it's not even an issue here though! LOL
30 makes us all dress like Eskimos!

The best roost of all is the rack on the truck that was just custom painted last week.

Another favorite is the edge of the Department of Agriculture inspector's pickup truck bed, when he has stuff in the back of the pickup that they can poop on.

Rose trellises with newly-planted rosebushes, the apple picker you were using a minute ago (best if it is propped in the apple tree, giving them a sturdy roost next to a meal), the top edge of the chicken run where the rooster can see them and crow all day long, and the fence between you and the neighbors who feud over the property line demarcation, all great places for turkeys to roost.
