Agree. They are very common here in Louisiana. Everyone I’ve met so far think they are Copperheads. They aren’t venomous but they love chicken eggs.

Rat snake 100% they scared the poop out of me when I first moved to TX as the head looked kind of triangular so I thought it was poisonous.

HeeHee. Yeah, they will get your attention when you walk up on one. Their markings at first glance look like a copperhead or rattler.

It's a great plains rat snake or prairie king snake. Kind of hard to tell the difference.
