What type rooster is this??

No chance of sex linkage- the roo IS barred(look at his tail, also delawares are columbian pattern plus barring), so he will produce barred chicks no matter what breed/color hens he's bred to. The only chance of being able to sex the chicks might be those out of him and cuckoo marans- males might be lighter with bigger head spot.

He seems to be pure for silver, so expect pretty much all variations of black/white chicks. If the sex links are red sex links, those will grow up black/white at first but eventually show some red blush on body and some will seem to start out solid white but also eventually show some red on body as they grow.

At least half of the chicks from naked neck will have naked necks. Possibly all if she is pure for the naked neck gene.

If he's a delaware from production bred lines, most of the chicks should end up dual purpose type- somewhat heavy and generally good layers.

I agree, you can't use a Delaware roo for black sex links cause he carries barring. I think you'll get a lot of barred chicks that are silver based.

I'm so confused!! Haha I don't know all the jargon so y'all might have to break it down a little more for me:
I have 1 red sexlink- 1 red/black sexlink and 2 black sexlinks- also my naked neck is black. So is my rooster a Delaware or something else?? I googled Delaware roosters and he looks just like them. It's really not a huge deal hit I was curious ad to what breeds I could possibly end up with!! I love BYC y'all are all so informative and helpful!!

Your rooster is a Delaware and if you cross him with anything but a Delaware hen you're going to get mixed breed chicks.

Sex link is a term used to describe an one time/way cross where you can tell the sex of chicks at hatch using specific genes that happen to be "sex linked". Example: Rhode Island Red rooster bred with Barred rock hens will give female chicks that are basically black all over, but males are black WITH a white head spot. Easy to tell. BTW this is usually the cross used to give Black Sex links.

Important to note, due to sex linkage, it will not work if you use a Barred Rock over RIR hens because ALL of the chicks will be black WITH the white head spot. No easy way to tell which chicks are male or female.

The above is due to the fact that barring is a sex linked trait. and btw, Delawares have the barring gene, that is why their tails have the white bars and their necks can look "spotty".

Chicks out of your rooster and the black hens will give birds that are barred all over in both sexes.

As the parents are of different breeds, the only thing chicks would be are mixed breeds although as all parent breeds are dual purpose types, the chicks could be called "mixed dual purpose chickens".
