What Type Spider Is This?

Lays lots of eggs, wears shoes! I say time to build a new coop, one with a very very small pop door.

I looked through 40 pages of spiders, then realized there were 840+ pages so I gave up.

It is a wolf spider, we have them just like that here.

There are many variations of wolf spider in Ga.

Some brown, some black and some mottled gray.

Looking through a really informational site I think it looks more like a Fishing Spider. Go down the page a ways to the "Hunting Spiders" and it's on the righthand side... just after the Trapdoor Spider:

Brownish-gray Fishing Spider. 1/4" to 1" long. Body and legs brownish gray, marked extensively with blackish brown.

How close to water do you live? The distance you live from water depends on if that is a Fishing Spider or not, but the pic you have looks very much like one.
