What vitamins

I have seen various people post about giving chicks vitamins (even human vitamins?!). What is a solid brand/type to give to chicks AND is it necessary if you are giving them crumbles (in this case medicated)?

Shouldn't be necessary, if all is well. Vitamins are usually given for certain conditions or if the chicken has suffered a lot of stress, as in injury. Simplest thing to give is infant vitamin drops -- generic ones in our local Rite Aid are around $10 a bottle and a bottle lasts forever. I used to give put a dropperful in baby chicks' water. You can put a drop or two on the side of their beak, too. I've always read on here to give the type without added iron.
