What was this winged creature? UPDATE ON POST #1

My money is on a winged chupacabra(sp) or vampire. I mean, what else could it possibly be?

Isn't Washington home to those Twilight vampires????
Actually, we have those massive herons around all the time. At dusk last night, I saw one take off from the neighbors pond, didn't hear him, though.

Oh no, chupacabras don't fly (usually). Probably a Lechuza. Unless you have access to a curandera, best tie seven knots in a string...
