What was your hatch rate with your first order of shipped eggs?

My first batch of shipped eggs was also my first time incubating & they were Seramas; I had a 0% hatch rate.

I got six total eggs/ brand new hova bator / six chicks hatched

100% ! That never happened again for me with shipped eggs

Those were some GOOD eggs!

That's just awful. I probably would have given up.

My first shipped hatch consisted of eggs from two different sellers:

8 out of 12 orpingtons that hatched from one seller (66%)
10 our of 18 ameraucaunas hatched from the other seller (55%)

for a total of 18 out of 30 eggs (60% hatch rate for everything)

My first shipped hatch was 2 out of 6 eggs so 33% hatch rate. But it was also my first hatch.

My highest so far was 66% hatching 8 out of 12 I have learned a lot in between the two though so a lot of it was probably learning curve.

It is a gamble though. Recently I got a batch I ordered off eBay with a 0% hatch rate not sure if it was damage due to shipping or low fertility due to heat but there were a lot of clears and the ones that weren't clear died early in development.

4 out of 15 Amercauner ( hope I typed it right)
and
2 out of 12 BCM fom another seller
Sadly 1 of each passed away.
Think I made a lot of mistakes, because it was my ver y first hatch. Next year I will try again

My first was 5 out of 6 - they 6th just didn't make it out of the shell.
My 2nd..got 18, 8 were clear, my broody ate 2, and 1 didn't hatch.

My first was 1 out of 14 (7%)Silkies, 2nd was 2 out of 12 (17%) but one died at 1 wk (Lav Orp), 1 out of 6 (17%) Turkey. Ordered more and have a dozen of local fertile eggs for comparison of hatch rates, to see if it was my incubating or shipped eggs.
Currently have 12 local fertile eggs and 19 shipped eggs in the incubator for my experiment.
