what weird thing have you done with your chickens?

Hmmm..... lemme think....
OH yes, I ran around my front yard while my chicken Nellie chased me around squawking and I yelled "AHH!!!!!!! CHICKENS ARE INVADING THE WORLD!!!!!!!!"

Pippa my Barred Rock hen and I take naps together. She jumps on the bed and snuggles up to my neck....sometimes kicking her feet to get them under the covers. She is an indoor outdoor chicken. Out with the flock on warm sunny days and pecking on the door to come in on cold or rainy days. She brings sunshine where ever she goes. But be warned she will cluck as loud as she can if you hog the bed or snore...lol. I have a great picture of her snuggling but as of yet been able to figure out how to post them.

Where oh Where did you find an chicken sized coustume????

I stole it from a teddy bear. I also have used smaller sized dog costumes, doll clothes, and my brother's old baby clothes.​

WEll, I am not sure it this is weird but........I had a "chicken coop" party for my flock after my husband built their new coop and pen. Treated family and friends to a bar-b-q (burgers, not chicken) and had my minister do a "chicken blessing for the new coop and all my new babies." The ceremony lasted about a half hour and all my friends and family are still talking about that party. It was a lot of fun and a terrific excuse to party at least once a year with the girls.

This year, actually in a couple of weeks, our party will be to decorate the coop and pen with Christmas lights. I am the only one I know who has chickens (except my BYC friends of course) and they are really such a draw to my family and friends. They just love my girls and get such a kick out of holding them, feeding them, watching them do chicken things. Here is a photo from last year, this year I have those icicle lights and lots more bling to hang, certainly more red tinsel and perhaps a small decorated tree?

that's one amazing coup! i love the nice paint job! I'm sure the lights will be a nice addition.

I took Butterball to my grandma's house, then we went to a campout to hang out with other 4H members/leaders. On the way we stopped and got breakfast from McDonalds. My grandma got a sausage biscuit, and I got a breakfast burrito. We shared with her.

I take her places all the time.
One time I went to Wendy's on the way home with her, and the drive-thru people were amazed. They called over all the other employees to look and one asked me if she was "a real chicken".

Oh, and Butterball was moulting when I took her this time. Please don't make fun of her.
