what weird thing have you done with your chickens?

I freakin love the hypnotize thing. Talk about putting a rooster in his place! After I nudge him to get up, he won't look at me for days. LOL

oh we laughed at that...I have lots of baby silkies at the moment. I am a school teacher and I take my girls to school for the day 'just to hang out'. They wander around the classroom but mostly wander around the courtyard outside my classroom.
I live in the city so the kids are just amazed by them...oh and it makes me the very cool teacher.
Last time 'Adelaide' LF Cochin hoped up and tucked herself up on our reading sofa in the corner and she laid an egg.

oh that one would be fun!!!!!

I took my hen MayMay to the dollar store with me in my truck. Turns out she loves to ride in the truck! while i was in line, the people coming in were laughing and shakind their heads. I didnt say a word. when I left and got into the truck the customers just about died to see who's it was.

They were looking in the 1/2 down window and trying to talk to her like a puppy. it was just awesome. I am thinking pet smart this weekend for santa.

Lay them on their side, keep their beak pointed: you draw a line in the dirt and make sure they can see it. Then they just lay there for a while even after you let go. But you have to make sure their head stays down and beak is pointed.

Really it's just them being relaxed or maybe it's some sort of defense mechanism

It's either a really smart instinct or a very pointless one, now with domestication etc.

Took out "Z" our BR house hen, for a car ride to pick up take out from Captain D's. She rode in the front seat and just looked around. The only problem came when we stopped at a red light, she became excited like she was saying, "Come one, just go!" Should have taken pictures. The looks on the faces of Captain D's drive thru was priceless.

i had to go quad racing in scotland with my husband, i had nobody to look after my 2 baby chicks 1 week old so i took them with me. I put them under my top next to my skin and even put them to bed with me! We where lucky it was very hot in scotland (rare) so i put a tyre on the grass and put them in. They played all day.

I want to take some chickens on a car ride, but I am afraid it will start bad habits. Penny and Prudy are already trying to get into the car with me EVERY time. I am always afraid I am going to catch a neck in the car door or run them over.

I don't really get the hypnotise technique, but it would be fun to get them to be hypnotic in my arms. Then, I could carry them around like babies to really get my neighbor's goat.
