my dad used to raise gaited horses... he had 9 horses in a pasture and 7 were stolen (thats all they could fit in the trailers) they ran them all up in the barn... also stole all the tack and feed out of the barn... 6 adults and a colt...they got some of them back a couple of years later... they starved the colt to death... one of the tennessee walkers got beat so much because the lady who bought her from the theives said she walked funny... she never gaited again... they did get 2 extra horses back... the misouri fox trotter had a new foal and was pregnant again... Never caught the theives but we have an idea who the ring leader was but could never proove it... just know it had to be someone who knew the horses and the layout of the barn ... the better horses were the ones taken... the 2 that were left behind were mixed breeds.. noone stayed out there at the time but after that I moved out there and my dad moved out there in a travel trailer...

Wow, people really never cease to amaze me. I'm so glad you got your horse back-trust me, he's glad to be back! Take care of him and never let him out of your sight! I'm so sorry this happened to you. God bless.

The deal I made with him was to pay for the horse immediately, within a week or two. I did NOT make a deal with him to conceal the horse from me indefinitely. I did NOT make a deal that the horse could be hired out for any tom dic and harry to ride, I DID say the horse was mine until paid for and that if he couldn't pay to bring him back. When he gave up care, custody and control of the animal before he paid for it and put himself in a position where he was not able to provide care for the animal, it should have been returned. The deal I made with him was broken when he went to jail before paying one cent on the horse. Sort of like a marriage that was never consumated. No deal took place because he never put a cent down on the horse. He asked his friends to conspire amongst themselves to conceal a horse that had not been paid for. That MUST be a crime somehow. I plan to put together a tidy package for the DA's office to mull over next week and press any and all charges possible, and to sue for being screwed over MANY different ways, including the devaluation of the animal, cost of rehab to restore the animal to his original state, including professional re-training, shoeing, full board and any vet expenses both routine and situation related until the horse is back to a decent, marketable state. I also want the rent string money earned by the horse. It is obvious by the wear marks on that horse's back that a saddle stayed wet on him for long hours, day after day. Eight months of pony rides is a lot of cashola, let me tell you! I should be entitled to that money, because it unlawful enrichment for them to keep it. The people who did this were not poor people. Two are realtors and one drives a brand new truck and shiney trailer and dresses well. Steve, very shallow pocket, pretty much just a seam sewn on some jeans to make it look like a pocket. lol No money there.
