what will happen ?

Can you put a temporary pen around her nest so you don't have to move her and the rest of the flock will leave her alone?
I make panels that are 24 X 36 inches from 1x3 boards and attach a piece of hardware screen to the frame. You can take apart a pallet and use those boards for your frame?
The panels can be wired together to make a pen using three or four panels

This is what I'd do. You can't always expect a duckling to stay with it's mom and if one goes wandering it can get into alot of trouble just ask anyone who has lost one to other flock members when mama is staying put on the nest and doesn't come to help the duckling. Yes a broody duck or chicken is the best way to incubate because most of the time they do everything right. and all we have to do is provide food water and make sure everyone is safe. But making a little safe place within where she already is is the best way to make sure mama and babies are going to have protection and privacy they need at least for the first week or two.

Well,, I have a pen I was planning on using to put the ducklings after they hatch, I guess I could try to put her and the nest in there to keep her separated from the ducks as well as the other chickens. just need to put some straw in there as well as water and food.

She'll take good care of her ducklings, and if she wants out for some R&R she can fly over but the babies will be safe. She isn't going to go too far from them. When my hens are broody and they aren't in the best place inside the coop I pick up nest and eggs and move them to new place then put mama in with them she is so dedicated by that time she won't leave them, she may go back to the first nest a few times but I always take her to her new spot and she settles right back down on the eggs. Chickens are much better at being moved than ducks. I think it's important to get as much of the nesting material the eggs are on though. My hens and female ducks like their privacy when brooding and hatching. Can you just sit the pen over where she is now? Most of the time my hens start out being broody inside a nesting box and all the rest of the flock wants to use it for laying is usually my main reason for moving her and eggs and the nest boxes are off the floor and ducklings could fall out of the nest box.

Ya, I have noticed that the other hens lay their eggs with her, and the nesting area is off the ground. I guess I will just fix up the pen I have to put the ducklings in for her and the eggs. Thanks so much for everyone's help. I'm really new at this so any help is appreciated. Thanks again to everyone.
