This was a duckling that pipped through the air pouch and the shell in one spot and stopped, so i helped it. Then I found out it went back into the egg and now it won't come out, it's been a day. It's still moving a lot. It also still has a quarter of the egg filled with the yoke. Will it die or will it absorb the yoke and come out. I am not touching it. HELP!!!

just let it do its thing i am not an expert so someone may be able to help. but i would just wait until it absorbs the yolk. it should have already done that though.

Leave it like that and make sure the humidity in the incubator stays high enough to keep the membranes around the duckling damp. Aim for 65% minimum. I see you have removed quite a large piece of shell, so dampen the membrane with a wet q-tip every now and then as well. Just be careful around the duckling's face and nostrils with the water. Ducklings do take a long time to progress during a hatch, much longer than chickens, on average. I've assisted a duckling once that took 3 days to finish absorbing the yolk. It was fine afterwards. Just be patient and give the little one the time it needs to complete this process. Good luck!

After the external pip it should take on average 24 hours for it to absorb the yolk, but like I said, some can take a lot longer and some will do it quicker.
