What will they NOT eat??!

This is a side splitting thread - LOL!

I have 2 Orp Buffs & 2 NH Reds in a converted dog kennel. My husband made them a perch to fit.

As the story goes, we had Spaghetti for dinner... with leftover noodles...

My husband decided he wanted to hold Viven (orp buff), so I brought her out for him to hold and then thought about the spaghetti... I thought this would be cool for them to bond... since they are going to be the pets of the flock.

Viven went nuts and gobbled up the of string Spaghetti. I tried to get a picture, but she ate up the noodle so fast, I missed the shot. But it was great shot of the two of them!

So when I put Viven back in the kennel, I put some of the noodles over the make shift perch... (hanging like worms) All four girls went nuts... one little NH Red didn't quit get where everyone was getting the speghetti and chased everyone around trying to get a taste.

I have read the funny stories, but I saw it with my own eyes... I cannot wait to see what they will do with yogart... but I'll wait to give them that when they are in the run.

My two Barred Rocks didn't get it at all... I think they ate theirs after I left the room...

Thanks for sharing the stories!

Lol when we first got chickens my mom would go out to feed them the seed and they would jump up and scare her so she would spill the seeds.

Mine will eat summer squash. For some odd reason they will not touch cantaloupe. They LOVE watermelon, will even eat the rind, but if I throw a cantaloupe rind with some flesh on it, they look at it and then back at me as if to say, "Don't you have watermelon instead?"

Oh I love the stories!!!

Ya'll make me wanta go out and have lunch with the chickens!

I have not found anything mine will not eat. When they see me come out of the house, they gather to see what they will get. I always feel so bad if I do not have a snack that I give them grass instead. They are so funny to watch. They are like little garbage disposals.

Mine will not eat potato peelings, and won't eat the green tomato bushes, but let them get ripe andI have to get them first or chickens will nibble just enough to get the whole tomato thrown back at them, They love bread, and one of my friends brings me all her stale bread, makes great treats for them along withBOSS.They hear the backdoor open and they come running. marrie
