What would be the best color?

Hi there! I am looking into getting a silkie or two as an exhibition bird and was wondering what would be the best color to start out with for a beginner.

Solid black/blue/splash would be fun as the blue gene only has an effect on black pigment; if your birds are pure on their e-locus all three colours can be bred in the same pen.

or white. If you want to have some fun keeping them clean.

Silkies should have 5 toes not 4.
Not sure that has anything to do with OPs question though.

A solid color is the easiest to pick out defects for color naturally. But there is also more competition in the whites or blacks class.

Yes they would. Buffs would also be an option.
