what would cause chicks to be "sticky"

my chicks (only 2 hatched) seem to have more "egg stuff" on them once dry they still have stuff sticking their fluff down and the don't fluff up...any ideas?

Now I use a reptile hygrometer I got at my local pet shop, and my last hatch was so much better!

Definitely a humidity problem. In the past if I had to open the incubator during lockdown to help, or remove a rotten egg, I would end up with sticky chicks from low humidity.
