What would you call ‘Show Quality’ ?

I’m just curious about different chickens and what makes them show quality? Would you say my Sebright cockerel is?

Did you incubate him? Incubating him would actually up the chances of him being a rooster, because if you get hem form the store they sex them for you.

My definition is a bird that has a chance at a APA show. So unrecognized breeds or colors and ratty looks birds are not show quality

He would make a good breeder, but I don't think he is quite show quality. He looks a little too large, and his back is too long and slopes down too much. His coloring is also too dark in some places-- the lacing should be even all over, not thick in some areas and thin in others.

I only have Pekins, and they can’t stay out of the mud

I know that. I incubated 11 eggs and only 3 were hens

Post your muddy Pekins it he comp if you enter! Maybe you can take them through an optical course or something and enter them in chicken tricks! I would drove more competitors, right now I only have one!
