I think a sticky should be placed at the top of the forum showing examples of good packing for egg shippment. I know you can search the forum and find numerous examples of how people pack their eggs, maybe these examples should all be placed in one sticky post where they are easy to find.
Personally, I dont buy shipped eggs. I much prefer to drive to pick them up, and have driven several hundred miles for just a few eggs. Usually tho when I drive its to pick up several dozen eggs of the breed I am looking for. There is a breed in Washington State I am wanting and I will probably have to have those eggs shipped if I get any. Putting the shoe on the other foot, I much prefer someone drives to my place to pickup the eggs they are buying, but I also realize this isnt always a practical solution for everybody, therefore I do ship eggs. One practice I do is I never remove the money from paypal until the eggs I have shipped have been received by the buyer. This way they can inspect the eggs and make sure I havent shipped a mess in a box. If at that time they are satisfied with shipping, I will withdraw their payment. I feel this does a couple of things for the buyer, it shows them I am interested in them being satisfied with their purchase, and in the event that they are not satisfied, and I cant satisfy them, I am only out shipping and they are out nothing. Paypal cant charge me a fee and the buyer isnt charged a fee if I have to refund their money. Of course I realize there are some people out there that would take advantage by removeing their money after I have shipped the eggs, but I wouldnt hesitate to announce their names publicly on the internet if they did so. I try to be fair and honest and expect to be treated the same, but I can be a grouchy old bear if the situation warrants the need.
