I raise rabbits. Mini rex mainly. I lost my favorite buck(boy) this winter and need a replacement. Saw a sign for easter bunnies so I stopped to see which breed they had. The lady had probably 8 adults, 15 babies and some in the nestbox 4 days old. The cages(dog crates) are disgusting. Straw mixed with feces...hasn't been cleaned in who knows how long. Bunnies have feces caked on their feet. They're all mixed between 2 cages. Big but gross. Also 2 bucks seperate so they won't breed but somehow "they keep breeding" I don't think she knows much about how rabbits breed...but I decided to take one about 8 weeks old. She was asking 10 but took 6 as this was all I had. Now as I was driving home I can't stop thinking about those poor bunnies. I don't know what to do. Part of me wants to go back, take all I can(I have the room) and rehome them to GOOD homes. But would that be like, supporting the puppy mill so to speak? Should I just go on and be glad I saved one? I don't know what to do! What would you do! Advise needed!

what about asking her how much for ALL her rabbits since it looks like she is having a hard time keeping up with their upkeep? Well you dont need to say that but you get the jist-ALL the bunnies-then rehome/sell them to good folks who wouldn't run a bunny mill

I understand I took a female dog that was done being breed she spent her last years as a pampered loved pet. Can you report her to animal control?

If animal control as contacted what's the chances that they'd be taken and they don't have room so then they'd be euthanized? Id hate to see that...maybe I can work with them and offer housing? I dunno how any of that works...
