To everyone I owe swaps that are not eggs, (the girls are still broody), I will be shipping everything out tomorrow and will send you a pm with a tracking number tonight. Sme things come up today...... A friend of a friend as it turned out hatched a bunch of silkies from Catdance and bobbi porto eggs. Chicks were either 1 month or 3 months old. She got transfered to seattle for work and has to move in 2 weeks so I got 14 chicks for $30 and WOW are they awsome! I got black, lavender, black/lav split, porcelain, buff, 1 blue and 1 splash. I picked the best looking out of about 45 but couldn't pass up on such an amazing deal.

DH and me had to throw up a quick coop and pen for them to quarantine in because the weather here is nasty rain and wind thru the week : (

I couldn't make it to the post office but at leased I had a good reason : ) Everything is packaged up and ready to go though with dc#'s and everything to go out tomorrow I swear! : )

They were finally tucked in for the night into their new diggs : )

Oh and I just had to share this picture because me and my DH have been laughing about it for the last hour!

I don't count my chickens. I have no idea how many I have. I do count chicks and thats scary enough.

And with 3 full bators and 2 of those are full of quail, i'm on pins and needles about where i'm gonna keep them all.

I recently bought several silkies from Bobbi Porto and DH is still working on pens in what little spare time he has. He took off this last saturday just to work on pens. Poor fella.

Ya I haven't counted them either but I was curious tonight so I added it up in my head based on how many I have in each coop..... Didn't realize I had that many but the problem is most of them are silkies under 6mths and not laying yet..... Can't wait until they are though!

Ya my DH usually has sunday and monday off but he had to work sunday so after working for 8 hours he had to come home and work on a coop then we finished it up today in the pouring rain..... not a huge feat but it was a little crazy to say the leased

I know. DH comes home everyday and most of the time don't even come in first before he starts in on something that needs done. Today he moved a couple of pens out of the sun. But he did bring in the paper first. We don't even read it, I use them for packing eggs. lol
It was pretty funny. I had let the partridge silkies out of their pen so when DH got home they would be out of the way so he could move the pen. I went out to shut the door and they where standing in the spot their pen was at. Just looking around wondering where their house was. I had to pick up Fancy Pants because she wouldn't be hearded to the new location. Then the roo wasn't having his lady human handled so I had to pick him up too. Oh then miss "Your not bossing me around" had to be caught too. I just hope nobody had a camcorder. My 3 year old grandson was trying to help and ended up making them move in the opposite direction I wanted them to. He's such a good helper though. He did close the door for me.

I've got 19 pens and cages. I refuse to count whats in them. lol And I need more built.

I hope to get started on my Rhodebars soon. I got my first chick from my silkie mille fleur project that looks promising. I'll know in a few weeks, it has been a long hard road.

Oh and we do not count here. We just say we have a mess of this and a handfull of that. I know there are others here who have what we would call a ton :p I prolly should gop out there and count them all one day. I think I will wait until the end of the season though....
