My SFH eggs, from KYTinpusher... started hatching last night. 3/6 hatched out... I think a 50% hatch rate is pretty good for shipped eggs.

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I am gathering things to make a swap page this weekend! I know people have posted how to make a swap page for me before, but it was so many pages ago, can someone tell me again?

We are trying to have less "things" in our house and more necessities. Like soap, goods that people have canned fabric for sewing, etc. and one can never have too many hatching eggs! so that's what I am really excited for.

My parents are coffee roasters and have an endless supply of giant burlap coffee bags, some plain, some with artwork. I am going to sell them at my egg stand this summer, but was also wondering if that would be a good thing to add to swap items?
I am so excited to join you all! I have been stalking the swaps for a while... Lol.

Burlap bags are perfect for protecting plants during our winters! Yes from me. Welcome to the madness!

At least possums are stupid enough to just sit there and look at you while you take aim. It got into my cochin coop last night. Fortunately it only got 1 hen and 1 pullet and not the whole flock.

We have something picking off our Siapans and yard mixes. I am thinking Opossum, but it could be a Coyote. I'm hoping Opossum, so it will be easier to take him out. It leaves nothing but feathers and blood.
Thankfully you got him before he did too much damage. Think there might be anymore lurking around?

Leslie, sorry about your loss. I tried to run over a dang opposum last night. The darn thing was coming out of the field entrance across from my driveway. I would have went in the ditch if I tried any harder. My dog trees a coon every night and I see a pair of fox in my pasture. They haven't gotten anything yet.

lol He's not a pain.) They really are hard to get your hands on. Unless you want to get hatchery chicks that are not of good blood. Most of the hatchery chicks do not make it and your stuck with loss of money and time. You guys must have the patience of a saint b/c game birds are meanyheads! Ours pinch and flog and are just down right boogers! If they wern't so expensive I'd have eaten them long ago! (well that and my DH would be pretty put out...lol) I just wish they laid better. I could totally fund my whole chicken fetish off of Siapan eggs or chicks. LOL There is a guy in Soddy that gets 85.00 to 100.00 a chicken, from his Siapans. He gets 200.00 a dozen for his eggs, and 20.00 per chick.
