I was so hopeing I could take little butter into the vet today and see about getting her wrapped up better and I called and the lady woudnt give me the time of day. WE dont do birds she says. Yes I know I reply I just need help geting her wrapped up well as its hard to do with all her squirming , I dont have time she says. .. Im in shock I mean I knew that my vet is in the process of retireing but I thought he would still be around some and I didnt know that the person replaceing him would be so unsympathetic. . This man while rather gruff and haveing a bit of a I know more becuase Im a vet attititude on occasion, has always worked with me. He lets me charge , writes me scripts for pets he has seen cuase he knows I know whats wrong and whats needed after the first visit for chronic things litsents to what I say if he dosnt know much about the animal , like when I took my rats to see him he hadnt treated them befor but he was willing and he mostly listend to me about what was diffrent about treating rats medically ect. Looks like Im gonna miss him more then I thought. Why did vet stuff have to go all money based to its bad enough with dentists chargeing ten times what stuff costs or more and I wont even go into regular doctor crap and hospitals .. My vet wanted me to bring my Sebright pullet in when the raccoon ripped her wing off. I told him I couldn't afford to put that kind of money in a chicken I spent $2.50 on. We discussed what was going on with her & what the extent of her injuries were & what possible treatment options were for her here at home. I ended up spending about $10 total between some gau2e wraps & a bottle of blu-kote. I had to finish removing protruding bone & wrap & medicate her. A month's worth or babying her & antibiotics for 2 weeks (already had this) & she was back to running the coop. She since has moved to a new home, but unless she extends her wing you can't even tell she only has about 2 inches of her right wing left without looking very closely.

Not sure about long distance fees & all that, but I know my vet really cares about animals & doesn't have a problem helping people treat their animals at home when bringing them in isn't an option. I'd be happy to give you their number & maybe they can give you some advice on how to do the splints so they will stay.
Personally, I would try pipe cleaners & vet wrap or sports tape (the kind that only sticks to itself & is stretchy). Mold the pipe cleaners to her legs in the shape you want them to stay & then attach them to her legs with the vet wrap. If pipe cleaners aren't sturdy enuf, try some heavier floral wire.

Means I didn't find anybody :(

THank you I think I know what to do I just need someone to help me do it as she just squigges like a mad thing and is hard to hold on to. though a second opnion from my vet would have been nice. I dont mind spending alittle money as I feel if you bring an animal into your life your responsbile for that animal and it shoudnt matter if it was a free kitten ( mine has cost me over 1,000 so far easy) or a chick or a rat ( my rats cost me probly close to 2,000) If I take responsiblity for something then I take all responsiblity. If I can some how work it into my budget I do end of story, I dont have any money right now not even enough to buy vet wrap but my vet use to let me charge then pay off the bil over a few months as long as it was done in a short period like 3 months or less kind of thing and IM fine with that but he dosnt call the shots anymore I guess. I found one person willing to work on chickens and she is 45 miles away and charges 40-50 bucks just to get in the door and requires payment up front so I cant go there . Ill keep wrapping her the best I can with what I have till I can get the vet wrap or something simalar and go from there. Ill let you know if I need that number. She dosnt seem sick otherwise but she dosnt want to eat much though she seems to like yogurt so Im gonna go get her her own plain greek yogurt this after noon and maybe a jar or two of baby food as well cuase Im sure my fat free low cal vannila isnt the best thing for her.I crushed up a little chick starter and mixed a small amount into the yougurt for now , she has stopped takeing water since I started giveing her yougurt is that cuase she is getting enough from the yougurt or should I try to force the water more.?

You didnt find anyone for what dear ? I must have missed a message?

Can you find a friend, neighbor, coworker or family member to help hold her while you wrap? What about if you hold her on her back, will she go to "sleep"? I know this isn't good for them but for the short term long enough to get her wrapped she should be okay. I used the tops of knee high panty hose to wrap a goose's legs. He was big enough but with Butter so tiny you'd have to tape the end.

oooops sorry for the misunderstanding
