You have to be nominated to get a badge. Also, for greeters, you can't just post

on every new thread and expect a badge-they want personal messages. Over the winter I have more time to do it.
The other badges are "friend" for someone who is helpful and kind, "educator" for someone who takes the time to help, and the "year"-for someone who has been here for 4 years, 5 years, etc. There are several others too.
