Are x-mas lights enough? For some reason I was thinking I would need those great big 240 watt brooder lights. Lol

I've used the white christmas lights for the last couple of years and it seems to work well and it's easier on the electric bill. My polish, however, will not lay during the winter no matter what kind of light, food, treats or any other kind of bribe I might offer. I think they would prefer to be a snowbird!

I was told 40 W bulbs were enough. I use 60 W though. The other bulbs use too much electricity.

X 2 on the rough day. I was running late to work this morning and I saw a van in the ditch. I thought it looked like my wife's van. Yup, it was her. This is not a good thing since she is wheel chair bound and her van is modified so she can drive it. After getting her out and having my boss tow the van out she went to the ER. She is just bumped and bruised. She said she was going around a curve and when she wwent to straighten the wheel it wouldn't straighten. She clipped a mailbox and came to a stop inches from a utility pole. Her wind shield is smashed, bumper is pushed in, right front quarter panel is dented, and one front tire is straight but tilted and the other is turned.

Jim, I'm glad your wife was not seriously injured........too bad on the damage to the van though.

Thanks. The best part about it is the equipment was malfunctioning this summer. The closest dealer in Minneapolis had to send it to the company 6+ times. The company said it wasn't safe but Iowa's Vocational Rehab department that pays for the modifications said they weren't paying for a new system. They said just put the old one back in.

Oh my, Jim. I'm glad that it was just bumps and bruises but it must have scared quite a bit. I've had our steering lock up on our van when driving it, and I didn't care for that feeling at all! Hope you are able to fix her van or able to find one that isn't too much hassle to modify. I think you both could use a better day tomorrow!

And I just got home and my 12 and a half year old house cat died. He's been sick so at least he is at peace but it still sucks.

Yes, Wow JIm you definately had a more rough day than me. Hope your wife heals up soon from her bumps and bruises. Sorry about your cat. I lost my 13 yr old cat this year too. I know how rotten it is. Hope things start looking up for you.

Abe and Darwin were litter mates. This is a picture of them when they were a few months old. Darwin will be lost now without his brother. Abe is on the left. Darwin is laying on me right now trying to comfort me.
