I agree. That's why after what happened with 'you-know-who' not being able to meet obligations on all those eggs being claimed, I have refrained from even considering claiming 'spring eggs'. I am sure the ones offering them have every intention on delivering, but we all know life can always throw you a curve. And in my case, usually does. I see LOADS of eggs I would love to claim, but I refuse to get in over my head, or take the risk of getting burned later on down the road. I have no eggs to offer right now, so it is strictly paypal for me. I can't see paying $15 or more for a claim on spring eggs that I may never see. What if something happened and I never received the eggs for whatever reason?? I could be in the hole for a couple hundred easy....

You have all made valid points and I'm a little nervous now lol! Hopefully nothing will happen to keep those that offer spring eggs from fulfilling the claims, but I guess you never know. Things do happen that are out of anyone's control. Maybe I'll slow down a bit.

Everyone has good points on here. Unfortunately, I am sure that I will not get all of the spring eggs I have claimed. Hopefully though, the people will be honest and offer another alternative. With anything like this, we have to know and accept the risks that come with it. I know some of you already have disclaimers posted as to what you will do, ie: paypal, offer other eggs, etc. I am doing that as well. My chickens are in secure pens, do not get to free range unless I am here with them. Most of the eggs I have offered are spring eggs, but as soon as mine pick back up again, I plan on sending out eggs to those who want them early. As far as this swap thread, I would like to see us have it increased to a few more, maybe 5. I think of this one a little differently, as these things for the most part, are ready at hand, not waiting on animals to cooperate. It does make it hard for the person that claims in the middle of the week, and seems to get stuck because most of us have used our 3 swaps. It isn't because we don't want what they have to offer, we just can't claim it. I for one feel bad when it is my offer up, and it takes forever to get claimed. I don't like to be the one who stalls things, lol. I think I am rambling on and on here, so I will just stop. LOL

And now you have chocolate and crele orps too?? heavens I'm going to have to set a timer for how much time I spend on BYC to help with my self-control, lol

Oh, and Susan, that apron is SUPER CUTE!!! I can see why sonew's daughter wanted to wear it as a dress, lol!!

I'm thankful for the people like you who state that you will find another option if something were to happen. I also hope that I get all my eggs in the spring since I've spent a couple of hundred dollars claiming these swaps. I guess I should have thought about the fact that some people won't fulfill them before I did that. Thankfully, most of my offers come from kraftyladies.

YUM!!! Biscotti is amazing! If you could make that peanut brittle into pecan or cashew brittle, it would be even more tempting to me. Not a fan of peanuts, but a huge fan of brittle.

I think adding more swaps per week is a good idea, but also maybe limiting swaps per day to 2 or 3. That way one person doesnt claim a bunch of stuff and hog the thread.

I like the 5 swaps a week..I have made it a rule not to claim eggs for Spring from anyone that I dont really know or seldom see...I know Im sure there are a few sets of eggs I claimed...I wont see that really bites....i dont get the 24 hour rule thing much from the paypal swap...I have to stay wayyyy away from that thread or ill b dead! I did one swap this week and it scared me how fast it moved! Lol in Spring Ill do it!

ColdupNorth sent the blowpens awhile back, and even added feed sack that I need!! Thank you VERY much ColdupNorth!!!

KYTinpusher's honey also came in and looks WONDERFUL. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but the kids nag about it on a daily basis, lol.

TDHenderson's seeds came in today as well. There are quite a few seeds in that pack! In fact, I got about 2-2.5 ounces of each seed variety!!!
