I am still looking for an incubator, I've been considering the little giant incubator from TSC. I don't have a ton of money right now to purchase the higer priced ones. I am reading that some people love it and others hate it. I guess that's with everything out there, I suppose I need to buy it and try it. I guess if it's crappy then I can either return it or sell it. I would make one but I am not handy at all, and I don't have anyone around here to make one for me. I wish I did, I LOVE reusing items.

Does anyone on here have a little giant, do you like it or love it, any info will be very helpful. THANKS

I have both the LG and the Hova bator and like my hova bator alot more. few temp issues and easier to adjust.

I hated the LG. I started off with one, had bad hatches, then used it as a hatcher when I got the 1588, then quit using it altogether. Now I'm on to a sportsman. But, if you're on a budget, it can hatch eggs, just not without a headache.

Give me a week or so and I'll replace them. Do you think it might have gotten too cold, or are they too small for you to really see. These guys can trick you since they are the same color as the wheat bran flakes. I sent you over 1000 small worms. how are the beetles doing?

you can get a white paper towel and spread a little out and see if anything moves.

If anyone else has had problems, please let me know. My large worms turned into beetles way to fast so I sent out the smaller micro 1/4" and 1/2" size. They grow real fast and I thought they would be better for future staggered generations.

Bea, sorry I have not checked out this thread in a while but no it's not your fault the worms died my family did not take care of them while I was in AZ. It got to cold in here. They were doing great when I left. But I didn't check to see if any tiny ones were alive but all the big ones and the beetles were dead. So I figured they all were. Oh and by the way I was waiting to have the extra money to send the fabric but its been really bad around here. If I could work I would I tell you.

Sorry, but I need to vent.

I gave our Shitzhu/Laso mix away the other night. She is not good with chicks, and ripped through a brooder box to lick them. She also chases my geese and ducks. Anyway.... I list on Craigslist...

I get a response from a woman/ girl, who wanted her really badly. She wanted her so badly she begged me to meet her way down on the other side of town at night. So here DH and I go, 45 minute trip to town.
She tells me that they only have one cat, and it is a kitten. There is another cat, but it is not theirs and does not come in the house. She also stated it was just her and her Boyfriend living there. The dog would have a good home inside.
Now let me say. This dog is older, 13 yrs old in fact. Good with cats, dogs, and other animals. Just not good with birds and fowl. She is kind, does not bite, and unless she is outside, she just lays around and watches tv just like the DH.
The next morning I get an email. "YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE DOG BACK".... My cats are attacking her.
After many emails back and forth. I find out that she has two cats living in the house, and she claims they are hissing and swatting at Prissy. (Prissy is not scared of anything) I also find out, it is her mothers house.
Now, we move to today.
As of right now....
The dog is biting everyone. The dog has made the cats spray everything in the house from scaring them so badly. This girls is under 18. Her mother says either I come and get the dog or it goes to the pound tomorrow morning. (NOT my fault the girl told me she was over 21 and it was her house). Oh and the dog spent the night outside in the rain with no dog house tied to a pole.
I am mad as a wet hen. I am picking her up at 6pm.

It's so sad in this world today it is hard to trust what anyone says except you guys of course, anyway I had a dog recently that I gave up to a rescue group because she would bite my husband I tried everything to get her to stop except a professional trainer I can't afford one. Long story short before rescue I tried giving her away because I thought I could find her a home myself, I had a girl call that was still in college, she was going to be done in about 6 weeks if I would please hang on to her till then I did then when it came time I never heard from her again and I could not get a hold of her made me so mad. Anyway it was better in a long run to give her to a rescue group because they are better at knowing and finding the best home for her. It was an Australian Cattle Dog and not everyone is able to handle their energy plus she had the issuse with my husband. I loved that dog so much and miss her.

I actually was thinking he would kill me for talking to Jim about buying Icelandic eggs and getting another breed. So I am pretty tickled.

To bad you weren't closer I have a Icelandic roo that is beautiful that I want to find a new home for. I have two and need to rid myself of one, I need more hens though I only have one. I have the two roo's in with 12 hens only one is a Icelandic hen. I am not hatching any of these eggs because I was told to keep the Icelandic's pure. I need one more coop and run. I have a JG coop, a blue Orpington roo coop with a mixture of hens I need blue Orp hens, I need to do a lot of moving around. I one day want to sell the fertile eggs.

Fair warning... This will be a depressing post...

Valentine's Day is a really hard holiday for me. The next few days are the roughest days I endure all year... 3 years ago today, my husband and I were in Las Vegas at a conference, expecting to go see Bill Engvall that night and have a Valentine's Day dinner together, but that was not to be. He dropped to his knees in WalMart that morning. He had suffered a massive stroke... He was gone by the next morning, only machines keeping him alive until family could come to say good-bye... He was the love of my life, my best friend, the rock that, along with my Lord, I had built my life upon... Hug your husbands, your wives, your children, anyone in your life who matters... You just never know when they will be gone...

Thank you for reminding me.

Got my rooster platter from Corancher today. Arrived in perfect shape! Thank you, I love it! Now I'm asking my mom and brother if they want to paint a whole set for me, LOL!
