Bea what do we feed them once a week
I usually take an average size potato and slice it into 5 or 6 pieces and put one or two in each drawer. You can use carrots, romaine lettuce, apples (thinnly sliced because they rot easily) Kiwi (will make them grow faster, but also spoils easily), about every two weeks add a scoop of two of Wheat bran.

Question for ya'll...I claimed PP (twice) on Saturday and sent a PM to the person I claimed from. It's now Wednesday and I haven't gotten a response to my PM or the PP. Should I send another PM? What's the general consensus on how long people have to respond?

i think i should make my own thread- the days of our lives- medical edition for caroline LOL

well here is what the dr said, etc

so... im back from the dr...

the swelling- says both legs are swollen and i have always had some edema. but the right leg is worse. so he said he will call in a better drug for that. to relieve some of the fluid that has built up.

he states that the nerve pain/numbness is not caused by the surgery itself but from the positioning during surgery as they have to get all the "organs" through the vagina so there may be some temporary nerve damage to the legs/hips
.
im like what if it doesn't resolve on its own. then he says he will send me for physical therapy. and then im like what about a neurologist. he says they probably wont do anything for me but he would send me if i wanted to if it doesn't go away.

the incision he tells me will close on its own in 2 weeks. do nothing and it will heal on its own (i personally went to the drug store and got butterfly bandages to at least draw it closed. so i will be doing that in a bit.

so next dr appt is April 3rd. looks like im out of work until then. another 2 wks. so looks like at least 4wks out. i need money by then so no matter what im going to ask him to release be back to work. grr.

he asked me if i am doing too much to soon. im like probably... i have a 15yrold daughter with a 6month old baby... so im alone and have to do a lot of things.

You may want to leave those butterflies off. Usually it's better to allow an incision to drain if there is infection present. If you trap the infection inside & don't let it drain you could get an even worse infection. My aunt has been a nurse for over 40 years & my grandma was a nurse for over 60 years. Also dealt with a very similar situation with my ex MIL when she had hernia surgery & it got infected. They ended up putting her on a wound vac (pump to pull infection out) because she wouldn't leave her dressings alone & let it drain properly & made the infection worse.

Yeah I agree about the butterflies...usually you want the wound to heal from the inside out. You can clean it but I would leave it open to heal and drain all the yucky out. I'm not a nurse...just work in the hospital lab.

Unless they said it would be for a later date, they should have already sent it.
