had something nice happen today...

well my mom and i have been to many scrapbooking events. the kind you sign up for and pay for a table, and sit for the day and scrapbook photos and memories of your own into a book. well there is one coming up on the 6th of April. and its a fundraiser for breast cancer research.

well, i wanted to go but at $45 a person there was no way with being out this long from work that i could pay $90 to go to an event like this.

.... interesting enough, i told them of my mom (breast cancer last year) and I (uterine cancer) and kindly let them know about us and our wishes to attend but could not afford to attend.

I expressed to them that I hope that the event would be a good one, etc.

the entrance fee includes all day table space, snacks, drinks, a meal, and chances to win prizes ... so it is a good value...

the person that is organizing the event is a high school senior, doing it as a community service project for honors society that she is in (btw i was in this same honors society)

anyway, I got an email this morning from this girls mother. stating that they would love to have my mom and i attend and they are waiving the fees for us to go for the day.

I am very excited now and my mom is also, we can spend a day together... and enjoy a day out.

None of my neighbors have complained about my roos yet actually, but I just moved in over Christmas so no one's windows are open yet. The neighbor right next door mentioned hearing a roo, but she has been buying fresh eggs so doesn't mind.

No puppies, but I have 6 new kittens that will need homes in a few weeks.


Yep, that's 1 of my brooders she has them in. Guess no chicks in there for a while.

I hope none complain, the kittens are so cute I can't have a cat have family that can't be around them.

Geesh.... I was just sitting here thinking today. My Step Daughter is going to be 21 in a few months. She was just 8 yrs old when me & her dad started dating. Where does the time go.

First of all in regards to starting a new thread and the OP. Looks like Bettacreek will be the new OP. I have asked her to plan on doing the new thread on Sunday. There are several people who have offered to help Bettacreek with the swap. I have left that up to her on how to use helpers. It has been my honor to run the swap and work with you all. Thank you all for making the swap what is it and thank you Bettacreek for stepping forward to be the next WYGS OP.

Does anyone have real rabbit furs and/or wool roving (color unimportant, provided that it's natural and undyed/unbleached) for trade? I have soaps, candles, bath bombs, quail eggs and meat/egg layer eggs that I'd like to swap for the materials, or I might just buy outright if it's the right price. I need quite a bit, so if there is more than one person with it, that's fine, I'll swap with everyone, LOL. I have mandalas that I've had since I was a kid, but since they'd been stored for so long, they're looking a little ratty and some I'd like to replace roving on. Some have synthetic materials (like fake rabbit fur and fake roving) that I'm debating on switching out for the real stuff as well. I'm ALSO thinking about making my own, so I'd like a lot of material to work with.
