I feel your pain, literally. I've had Plantar Faccitis (sp) for the last 13 years and along with that I have heel spurs on both heels. Artheritis in my ankles and knees and buldging discs in my back. Poor hubby has to work his fingers to the bone at work and here. I do what I can and I also take care of my m.i.l. It's taken over a month to move and we're beyond broke. lol Thank goodness I can sell enough eggs so the chickens pay for their own feed. The swaps, I use any extra $$ from selling eggs to pay for shipping. These days nearly everybody is broke but we make it. Rob Peter to pay Paul so it's called. lol
Oh, I didn't mention I don't have insurance and it's always around $300 when I go to the doc and get my meds refilled. Hubby is the same. Thank goodness my mother n law has insurance. I was born poor and will die poor. Can't take it with me anyway so I just need enough to get by anyway. And that we manage to do.
Meanwhile, I'm trying to swap my way into some SQ silkies. I've worked on making what I have a better quality it seems one chick at a time.
I need new blood in my flock and I like to either upgrade my roos or add better quality hens. Usually by swapping eggs. Soooooo.........after I finish filling the last 2 orders/swaps i'll have silkies and sizzles. Right now it's mostly my white silkies that are laying and only 2 of them. I get a partridge every now and again. My bbs have stopped for the time being. We all know how silkies are. My sizzles where laying like crazy till today but who knows what will happen tomorrow. I also have JB quail that are back to laying again also. I have some mixed oegb's that lay from time to time also. Nothing I can quarantee a certain amount of eggs from.
If anybody is interested in helping me out a little please PM me. Maybe I have something else your looking for or can find it.
I have plantar fasciitis and probably heel spurs as well. I don't know, can't afford to go to the doctor so no meds for me. I have shoe inserts that help some and just deal with the pain every day. I do know born poor and going to die poor but I am not going to die as poor as I was born anyway, lol.
I am working on rebuilding my flocks and getting some more breeds. Trying not to go crazy this time, lol.
Try wearing the crocs. I thought they would be very painful with the little nibbie things inside but they are actually comfortable. My feet are so sensative it's pitiful and crocs really help. When they start wearing thin in the sole I just get another pair but I usually keep 2 pair around. I've had insurance several times over the years and just lost it again back in May. Just before that I went to a pediatrist (foot doc) and had xrays and all that mess they put you through. He told me the only way it can be cured not after all these years is to cut the tendon. I've been warned about it several times from other docs i've seen that it will either make me pain free or in so much pain I won't be able to walk anymore. So I choose not to have it done. I walk all crooked now from the years of walking on the outside of the soles of my feet but i'm still walking.
