I have this cactus. I know nothing about it other than I have had it for about 18 years and my DH's grandmother had it for about 20 years before that. It blooms a tan "star" type flower every Mother's Day so we call it the Mother's Day cactus. It lives outside in this pot year around. Coldest at around 10 degrees and hottest is in full sun at 101 degrees. It has lived in this pot, in this spot for the past 18 years with full sun on the north side of my house on the deck. The Mocking birds love to eat the red seed pods that come out after the bloom fades.
I also have some planted down near the barn and it has done well other than grass growing over it. LOL

I suppose I could add this to my swap page, as well. Never thought about it. It multiplies like mad, given the room.

I am not good with plants so this one is perfect for me. Ignore and neglect make it real happy. I can do that!

you have to have a paypal account
go to paypal.com/shipnow add in the information of who your shipping to and press print now.it will take you threw the payment routine threw paypal and then it prints.
very easy stick it in the mailbox and the carrier picks it up.of course with eggs you would want to take it to the post office.
