I have stopped marking boxes. But alot of times, I reuse old egg boxes I've gotten eggs in and they already have FRAGIEL, HATCHING EGGS written all over them. I find if you DO NOT mark the box, the eggs seem to arrive in better condition. Sad, but true.
I tried not having boxes marked and the boxes were in the bottom of the mail bag that was thrown off the truck and the boxes leaked all over the other mail. The postal clerk was NOT happy so she called the sort facilities to see how to mark the boxes. I have made signs that I tape on my boxes. They said use BRIGHT colors. I have e-mailed these signs to others that were interested. I have gotten some boxes with signs on them that the PO has placed on them. They said that most of the sort facilities will handle the boxes better with a sign Live Animals and Time Sensitive.
This is what the PO has placed on boxes I have received. Sorry you need to turn your head or pick up the computer and turn it on its side.

Neither box was marked fragile. I still say it doesn't matter with all the conveyor belts, and machines sorting things. If a heavy box falls on your egg box, probably damage is going to be done. It may help if humans are moving boxes, but probably most boxes are marked and I think they just want to get the stuff moved asap.
I had to share this phot. It is a picture of some 4 1/2 month old Orpingtons that I hatched from eggs from Charles and Jody Hink. Next to them you can see my Wheaten Ameraucanas That Wheaten weighs 6 1/2 pounds, those Wheaten hens weigh 5-5/12 pounds. I may need stock in the grain companies!
