Hey Debi, forgot to mention that 7 eggs made it to lockdown, right now I have 2 little yellow chicks peeping away and pips on 3 other eggs. The first one got here about an hour and a half ago and the 2nd one was fast, like 6 hours from pip to hatch. I never really asked, but are they blue wheaten right? I have a hard time telling Wheaten and BW apart, especially from hens. I'm still holding out hope that an egg from that splash hen and black roo made it, oh how I love blues.

Oh, Deb, I left a note for the mail man to take the box back to the PO, I'll pick it up after 11, he just wrote "ok" on my note and didn't mention any damage.

Congrats to all the Cards fans! Glad we have some good teams in MO... the KC area teams are rather a disappointment

Also saw on the MO thread that a Missourian won Crossroads with a Jersey Giant! Good day for our state

Off to the KC Zoo - Boo at the Zoo. DD is so excited, we have never been to the zoo in the fall. Hoping the animals will be extra active in the cool temps.

Have a pip on my first Showgirl egg (from pullet I bought Oct. 8th). This will be a surprise chick, I have no idea what bred her before we got her. The cockerel we bought with her doesn't act too rooish yet, not sure he is breeding her. May not get more fertile eggs for awhile.

Mr. Heinz-I candled my eggs.

Three of the four you sent have live babies in them, the fourth was clear.

Reese, I have 4 green eggs from you developing, and one brown egg.

And out of the eight that I put in from my Blue Orpington rooster and black hen, ALL are doing well!

I wasn't even sure if he was doing his job yet! My blue pullets are not laying yet.

Sadly the eggs that I received from missred871 early in the month were no good. I didn't see any development in them but let them go until they started to stink, or until 23 days. Nothing. The post office had been extra attentive to the box. I could tell from the smashed in corner and the egg dripping from it. I so wish they wouldn't try to scramble my eggs for them. Thanks anyways missred871, hope you like the hair color. I am expecting some Buckeye eggs on Monday,

Got my eggs from Deb, there was 1 smashed that made some of the other ones look like death warmed over.

I ended up with 14 eggs, 3 of them look like trouble, but then again, who doesn't like trouble.

the yoke on the package looked pretty dry, so I think you made an enemy at your post office Deb. I'll candle later for cracks and detached air cells.

Oh Debi, I just got a little dark chick that looks like it has some yellow on it, thats probably a black or blue, right? I'm just waiting for one last egg to pip, too bad its my favorite egg (c'mon, like you don't have a favorite egg when you hatch).

Plus it looks like they may amount to something this year after all. I was sick when they lost in the playoffs last year. We were at arrowhead for that game against the ravens. It really sucked!!!!
