I buy 25 pound bags of dry cat food and add it to their scratch. What has your weather been like? Deb
Ok.... we will try some cat food with their scratch. The weather has been pretty nice. 80 yesterday....mid 70s today. 30-50 nights.
I got a Wellie egg today.
I only have the 1 hen, she is cooped up with the B/W Ams. and an OE. Nice little dark brown pullet egg.
Good girl !!!!
I went out staring at birds. I do have several molting. They get a free pass. But the Polish
they have NO excuse. They have not laid in 2 months now. Sizzles and Austrolorps quit too. Seramas are laying sporadically.
They are all healthy, lice/mite free. Wormed end of Oct.
I will take a deep breath and have patience. I will pray to be over loaded with chicken eggs.
1 banty just went broody.....that will be their next trick.
Mine love this stuff I make from time to time. I haven't made any lately but when I do they tear it up.
Cooked brown and white rice
Tuna, Salmon or Mackereal - drained
Applesauce
crushed egg shell
Oyster shell
What ever left over vetables I have
I mix it all up and give portions to everybody in all the pens.
I hear cabbage will make roos infertile till it's out of their system. I don't know how tru that is but I hardly ever give cabbage just in case. I don't know if it'll help get them to lay but they sure do like it
