Yes.....they are pretty but they will take over an area in no time flat and they get too tall. Also the ants seem to love them so I end up with fire ant hills all around them and that is not good to have especially when I'm trying to get rid of the lil devils.

I had animal control out here yesterday while I was at work looking for stray dogs-She saw a fox trying to get into my bantam coop just minutes before I got home. Luckily Dh and his crew had just got done work and were all up at garage when I got home and the posse went into overdrive grabbing their guns and taking their spots. Hours of watching and nothing! Today is a new day though and hope it turns up something! Oh also found a stray dog that got turned into animal control-a tiny white dog no bigger than my chihuahua! Shaking and scared as heck-dont think that was my killer

SO thats my update thus far. Chickens are all still locked inside but I think they are ok with it because when I got home from work to see them all they were all in a "zone" Not a good one-more like lost. You can tell they were looking for their roo and sisters-confused and very quiet No missing survivors came home Dh-me and his crew did another sweep of the land during daylight and found nothing

I have 5 packages going out today =all wrapped and ready to go
Cant think of names at the moment but I can say its
the last of my maple syrups-3 of them
and twp big shipments of eggs

Ok getting rain thursday,friday and Satureday should help some so I will send all plants satureday even if it does not rain.Plus the forcast says it will be cooler as well.
We could realy use this rain though....

Natalie-Thanks for the update. I was hoping you'd have more closure. Glad you found the little lost dog. Poor thing! I wouldn't give up hope on any making their way home, yet. Have you talked to the neighbors surrounding your property? Someone may have come across a lost bird. Please keep posting updates. We're all hoping Judge Judy and the others come back!!

Peggy-I'm hoping we get rain, too! I got a bunch of iris and daylilies in another swap and I can't plant them!!

I think we're somewhere around 29 consecutive days of triple digit temps.

I am hoping most of my plants survive! The trees are starting to go dormant because of the heat, so it's hard to know what's dying and what's not!

I got my Nanking Cherry Jam & Pepper Relish yesterday. They look beautiful.

Hope it cools for everyone that is suffering from the heat. We have been lucky with only a couple of days of 90+. We have been getting rain most afternoons so that has cooled things down here.

We got 4.5 in of rain last Sat in just 2 hrs and another inch Sunday. Just sprinkles after that. They are calling for HEAVY rain this afternoon through Friday afternoon. I might need to build an ark.

I've delayed shipping plants because of the heat and lack of rain but they are going out this afternoon.

I've been looking for the lavender ameraucanas too with no luck. I know they are out there but just not easy to find, at least not around here.
