Mid 40s + 9:00 at night + January 5 + Northern Minnesota = Highly unusual! It was almost 50 here today - no one knew what to do! Hopefully there won't be paybacks in June with only 30 degree weather for the month (has happened many a time up here). What a beautiful day; even if I had to enjoy it from inside a building at work

Oh, they are sooo adorable! Two more to hatch and then they make their way to the brooder. I can see at least 4 chocolates and a few splits. I also have two more choc already in the brooder from a New Years day. Will get pics when I get a chance to slow down.

Chicks to the left are fromCuntryuppiechick. 50% hatch rate despite the P.O. handling. May have been higher if I didn't accidentally crack one myself. There's another not pictured from momma Gracies own egg supply for a grand total of 7 succesful hatches between Christmas and yesterday between two first time mommas. Yay! Next up, I must get some showgirl eggs!!

So thrilled..I sent 6 split lav silkie eggs to a customer in CA..She just email me how impressed she was as all 6 are developing nicely!
