I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I personally don't feel that the correct place for our pets is on a chain. They deserve to be able to have their freedom. If a large area can be fenced in to keep them safe it's a plus but thats not always possible. I had a dog for 13 years and the only time she was chained was during her training as a pup. The only place she ever got locked up at was in the bathroom while I was at work. She was the best dog ever in my opinion and I miss her dearly. I had to make the hardest decision in my life a little over a year ago to put her out of her suffering.

It's not easy loosing a very much loved pet by accident or decision. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I'm sure she was happy to not be on a chain, I've seen so many dogs that live their whole lives in the same patch of dirt and only get attention at dinner time, if that. Be happy that you gave your dog such a good life.
