You all are the best!!! Thank you sooooo much.
Jim

DD has her own flock and coop at her house and she has a love for those dang hard to find breeds such as silver laced polish, black sumtra, and golden lakenvelders. SOOOOO we are always on the lookout for these birds and have done a bit of traveling looking at birds that folks claim are these breeds but quite often either they aren't or they are bantoms or not the right color or whatever. This year has been an adventure trying to find her bird list but did manage to find a breeder who shipped 1 dz golden lakenvelder eggs. So far tonight she has 2 hatched out and 2 pips and hopes for the rest. Keeping fingers crossed for her and happy dancing too.

I need some affordable show quality birds, just a trio I think. I read an article in Practicle Poultry about a 5 yr old girl showing her first chicken and winning big.... so now my 5 year old daughter thinks she wants to do it lol. I wanted to get her into 4-H when she is old enough anyway so it is a good step to that. I live in the city of agricultural and animal shows anyway. We always have something going on though I have to admit... I have never heard of a chicken show.... I KNOW we have them lol. I contacted the 4-H lady here to find out if they have a cloverbud program....of course it is the weekend so... lol

Thanks for the compliments Coop Scoop, yeah the stakes are HIGH. But I have to be accepted into the contest first. They have a vote whether you are good enough to be in the show before they let you in. Then once you are in the artwork can be bought, and there are literally thousands of dollars in merit prizes. Also, if you place, 1st is 200 and 2nd is 150 and 3rd is 100 (i think... it is a lot though). Would definately help my feed bill... LOL. Actually I need the money to buy a roll of hog wire it is EXPENSIVE! lol. Besides who doesnt like to know that what they do is actually good enough that someone would want it... and its willing to pay for it lol.

Jim, you're welcome. Glad ya got em.
